Frankie’s owner, Ms. E, had served under Freeze the Moment 4Ever Photography as an intern student from Austin Peay State University. At the studio I had noted her hard work and dedication toward the arts as well as noting her love for her family. She often talked about Frankie with his cute quirks during the internship, and the passion of how he had changed her life for the better.

On February 3rd, I had reconnected with Ms. E over a session that our studio had shared on social media. I had got to talking and found that her best friend was diagnosed with kidney failure with only days, possibly weeks to live if they were lucky. She had asked me if I had known of a photographer locally who provided End of Life Sessions. I had mentioned that I was not familiar with anyone local who provided them but that I donated a couple sessions under the name of Celebration of Life sessions to our regular clients who had owned dogs, but not a cat.

After some consideration, I mentioned that the best option for Frankie was more of a controlled environment indoors so that we didn’t risk him running off. At Freeze the Moment 4Ever Photography, we have access to a natural light based studio so it made it a perfect option for portraits to allow Frankie’s character to show.

February 6th, the day of the session, he was brought into the studio and allowed to sniff and acclimate in the space. That day was one of his better days in which he was super active, and also fun chasing around as he tried to eat a few of the natural plants styled in the space. A studio light had been setup for a select few portraits to get a few special detail shots of him. Overall during the session, we can see the overwhelming love that Ms. E has for Frankie.

February 11th, I had learned that Frankie was not doing well. February 12th, Ms. E and her family said their goodbyes to 3.5 year old Frankie. Unfortunately due to the quick decline of his health, he had to be euthanized on a Sunday which is typically costly on a family. A few close clients know, but back in 2020 our family dog, Atom, was diagnosed with Canine Osteosarcoma which is an very aggressive bone cancer. I will save her story for another time, but it definitely hit home on relating to the pain and loss.

After talking with the studio team, we had made the decision to donate a few sessions to aid Ms. E’s financial loss to properly mourn Frankie. We will be holding these donated sessions on March 25th and 26th in which the first image will be a gift from Ms. E who will be assisting the studio & families both days. Additional image sales will act as donations toward the $500 vet bill for the euthanization and cremation services; excess funds will be donated to a local charity to honor Frankie.

If you would like to donate something to Frankie’s Family without getting a session, please feel free to donate to our business Venmo so that we can pass on the funds. Follow-up with an email or phone number so that we can properly offer you a personal thank you card from Ms. E and our business!
